Proposed School Funding Bill Would Boost All County Districts

A school funding measure introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives might well put a smile on the face of Richland County school officials. Some more than others, admittedly (particularly those in Ontario). Mansfield Area Y Honored By Ohio House

This week, State Representative Mark Romanchuk (R-Mansfield) presented a resolution on behalf of the Ohio House to the Mansfield Area Y in celebration of its 150th anniversary. His office released the following: Since its establishment in 1867, this outstanding organization has ha”d an impact on countless lives and currently serves more than 10,000 members and 500 children in their pre-school and Early Learning Center. Ohio House Honors Bill Hartnett

The Ohio House of Representatives has honored a former collegue who enjoyed a long and successful career in public service. William J. Hartnett, who passed away earlier this year, was the subject of a resolution which was presented to family members last week. Accoding to the website for Represntative Mark J. Romanchuk, "A former member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006, Bill was a resident of Mansfield, located within Rep. Romanchuk’s district. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and an educator, working as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in various school districts in northeastern Ohio. After leaving the Ohio House, Bill served as the state director of veterans’ affairs for Governor Ted Strickland. Read More
