Murder Suspect Arrested; Drug Cache Discovered During Arrest

On Tuesday about 7:40 PM, the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Deshawn A. Dowdell on a Murder warrant issued by the Mansfield Division of Police.

The Mansfield Division of Police Major Crimes Unit had developed Deshawn A. Dowdell as a suspect in the homicide of Terrence T. Harris after a lengthy investigation. The homicide occurred on April 8, 2018 in the area of 1340 W. 4th St. in Mansfield. The arrest took place at 383 Wood St. Apt. #7 in Mansfield. During the arrest, NOVFTF Task Force Officers located numerous items of evidence related to drug trafficking and contacted the METRICH Enforcement Unit for further assistance. More…

At approximately 8:46 PM on Thursday evening the METRICH Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office served a drug related search warrant at 2724 Holtz Road in Shelby.

Joint Law Enforcement Effort Leads To Drug Bust; 39 Indicted, Most From Mansfield

Thirty-nine people have been indicted in federal court for their roles in two separate conspiracies to obtain large amounts of heroin, and in some cases, other drugs, from out of state and sell the drugs in Mansfield, law enforcement officials said.

Eighteen people are charged in a 41-count indictment with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin. More…

Heroin Seized As Search Warrant Yields Mansfield Arrests

On February 14, 2017 the METRICH Enforcement Unit assisted by the Mansfield Division of Police executed a search warrant at 151 Ohio St. in the City of Mansfield. The search warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Ardis. The search warrant was a result of numerous complaints in reference to drug trafficking.

During the search, METRICH detectives seized suspected heroin and an assortment of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments. METRICH detectives arrested and charged Tabatha L. Simmonds and Justin M. Simmonds with several counts each of Trafficking in Drugs. Both were incarcerated at the Richland County Jail where they await their court appearances. More…

Search Warrants Yield Arrest, Counterfeit Cash

On Friday at 10:31 PM, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 1813 Richard Drive. The search warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Ardis, and was the result of a short term investigation in response to several overdoses that have occurred in the Mansfield and Madison Township area. Fentanyl is the suspected cause of the overdoses. Prior to executing the search warrant, METRICH detectives arrest Michael Bolden at an address on Armstrong Avenue in the City of Mansfield. Good And Bad News Results From Underage Purchase Checks

The good news is that the vast majority of the 91 business in Richland County where underage alcohol or tobacco sales were attempted passed the test by refusing the purchase.
