Destination Mansfield – Richland County staff members attended the Ohio Conference on Travel in Sandusky, Ohio on September 25-28. They joined approximately 300 other travel industry leaders from across the state to discuss travel trends and opportunities, as well as to hear from national experts.  The local team also walked away with statewide recognition for their marketing efforts. Welcome To Destination Mansfield – Richland County

Change is in the air as 2017 begins, and a new logo and other updates which recently appeared on the website of the award-winning local convention and visitors bureau signals a new day for marketing area tourism assets.

For over a year, planning has been underway to package those efforts under a new name. Gone online is the name “Mansfield/Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau,” and in its place is the new “Destination Mansfield – Richland County.” More…

Economic Forecast Breakfast On Tap; Reservations Required

Travel Writer Touts Mansfield Entrepreneurs

The recent “Haunted and Hollywood” press tour presented by the Mansfield/Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau continues to produce interesting writing weeks after it took place.

Case in point – on Saturday, a story entitled “Mansfield Area Entrepreneurs Put Heart Into Work” was published in The Intelligencer and News-Register in Wheeling, West Virginia. Written by Phyllis Sigal, Design Editor, the post is a follow-up from her visit to Richland County (the first post can be read here) which looked at area attractions. The Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB) held its 19th Annual Awards of Excellence Luncheon in Lancaster, Ohio on Thursday, September 22, 2016. MIDDY Awards are presented for Destination Marketing and Tourism development.

The Mansfield/Richland County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s ShawshankTrail.com, won second place in the Website Category. “We were very happy to have been recognized for the work done on the new Shawshank Trail website,” stated Bureau President, Lee Tasseff. “It is the 20th award we have earned since 2012.” More…
