OSR Opens For 2017 Tour Season

The venerable Ohio State Reformatory has officially opened its doors for the 2017 tour season.

Through September 3, OSR is open for tours between the hours of 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, every day. Guided tours take approximately 1 ½ hours and are offred between June and August on Saturdays and Sundays. 179th Returns From Africa

On Tuesday, the 179th Airlift Wing returned to Mansfield via a C-130H Hercules. The unit had spent a month supporting Operation Flintlock in Africa, an annual regional exercise among African, allied and U.S. counterterrorism forces.

A majority of the members are from the 164th Airlift Squadron and flew the C-130H Hercules aircraft as part of the exercise. More…

ODOT District 3 Announces 2017 Construction Program

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s regional headquarters in Ashland has announced its 2017 Construction Program. And, while roundabouts will be coming this year to north central Ohio, none are currently scheduled to make a Richland County appearance.

Altogether, there are 81 total projects scheduled, 70 of them completely new this year. Total investment in the area of District 3 will be over $170 million. More…
