Chief Harper To Be Inducted Into Civil Rights Hall Of Fame

Former Mansfield Police Chief Lawrence Harper, who passed away last year, will be among those honored by induction into the Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission has announced.

The ceremony will take place on October 5 in the Ohio Statehouse Atrium. Harper is one of four inductees, the other being Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert H. Jones, the Marching Mothers and Children of the 1954 Hillsboro Fight for Integration, and Moses Fleetwood Walker. More…

Nominations continue to be accepted for awards honoring Ohioans who carry on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s death.

Awards honoring such individuals and organizations will be given at the 2018 Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration, scheduled for Jan. 11, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus. Mid-Ohio ESC Earns “High Performing ESC” Designation

Mid-Ohio ESC was recently named a “High Performing ESC” by the Ohio Department of Education.  This is the first year of the prestigious designation.

To earn the award, Mid-Ohio ESC demonstrated a savings of 21.4 percent for its 16 client districts in the areas of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, School Psychology and Speech and Language Pathology services, as well as Executive Search services.

Across the state, ESCs reported more than $54 million in savings submitted to ODE.  More…
