Matthew Failor ’07 loves being on a team. Whether it was during his basketball playing days with The Ohio State University at Mansfield or as musher for his dogsled team, Failor relishes competing alongside his best friends.

Grant-Funded Internships For Clear Fork Grad Lead To Career

From completing community mapping work in Costa Rica to comparing life expectancies in Italy and the United States, Ohio Wesleyan University students are receiving nearly $49,000 in new university-funded grants to support academic, research, and internship experiences. Ohio Wesleyan today announced it is awarding seven new Theory-to-Practice grants to enable 12 students and four faculty and staff mentors to complete OWU Connection experiences on campus; in Columbus; and abroad in Costa Rica, Italy, Morocco, and Northern Ireland.

From London Theatre Stage To Mansfield Senior Classroom

Javar Parker remembers the exact moment that the theatrical bug bit him. It was 2000. He was a freshman in the old Mansfield Senior High School.

“I sang in choirs and always enjoyed music, but I didn’t know anything about theater,” he recalled. “Brian Nabors, then the music director at Senior High, talked me into trying out for the musical Schoolhouse Rock. Senior Alum Contributes To Marietta Win

A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School is a key part of the Marietta Pioneers football squad this season, and this past Saturday, helped the team in a lopsided 66-23 victory over Wilmington College.

Jakkar Bishop, a sophomore at Marietta, set the tone for the win with an opening, 33 yard kickoff return giving the Pioneers excellent field position.

So far this season, he has had four returns totaling 91 yards. More…
