Change is in the air as 2017 begins, and a new logo and other updates which recently appeared on the website of the award-winning local convention and visitors bureau signals a new day for marketing area tourism assets.

For over a year, planning has been underway to package those efforts under a new name. Gone online is the name “Mansfield/Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau,” and in its place is the new “Destination Mansfield – Richland County.”

Many travel and tourism organizations nationwide have rebranded as programming is updated. As this article in Wikipedia shares, “In the United States, convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs), financed through bed taxes or their members, perform destination marketing.”

The CVB’s website can now be accessed under destinationmansfield.com as well as mansfieldtourism.com.

The site also features a look at the wide variety of area meeting venues. In a post entitled “Meet In Your Own Backyard,” an invitation is extended to area organizations and businesses to contact the CVB for information on what spaces are available. The post also refers to a special section dedicated to meeting planners, which features a pop-out facility guide highlighting features of each location.

The post can be accessed here.
