This year we’re continuing our weekly look at unique festivals, events, and attractions that are within an easy driving distance of the Mansfield area. We call these “Summer Road Trips.” Of course, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Richland County and encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.

The 2018 Dublin Kiwanis Frog Jump will happen on Saturday, June 23.

This annual array of amphibious athleticism draws thousands of age 12 and under “frog jockeys” to participate in several age divisions, as thousands of spectators cheer on their favorite frog. Competition includes multiple playoff rounds, followed by a championship. Loads of prizes add to the fun as well as inflatables, food vendors and just being outside with the family!

This year, frog races will begin at 10 AM and the final qualifying race will start at 2:30 PM.

The Jump’s “Final Rounds” will kick off at 3 PM and other activities, including inflatable rides, games, non-competitive frog races and food will continue through 4 PM.

More than 5,000 participants and spectators are expected to attend this year’s races, so come on out to Coffman Park, 5200 Emerald Parkway, and join in on the fun at Dublin’s longest running event!

More information is available on the event’s Facebook page. Below is a video to give you a feel for the Frog Jump.
