This fall, the Theatre Department at The Ohio State University at Mansfield is presenting two different productions that will lift the spirit and provide a wonderful evening’s entertainment.
The first is the Department’s presentation of “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde. This is one of the greatest comedies by one of the greatest comic wits of the English language. It was first performed in London in 1895, and has lines which are among the best-known of any play.
Two charming young ladies are in love with Earnest. But Earnest doesn’t exist. See how two bachelors, a handbag, one imperious mother, and more than one mistaken identity lead to host of delightful comic complications.
Performances will take place on:
Then, at 7 PM on Wednesday, November 7, the Department presents “One Night Only – A Campus and Community Celebration of Music.’ Instrumental and vocal music from students, faculty, staff, and local artists will be presented. Organizers share, “We are delighted to clear the stage for an evening of music. This evening’s celebration in song will give everyone a chance to shine and to share the music that they love.”
