The Mansfield/Richland County Public Library continues to step into the future by offering its patrons new types of services, including those tied to advances in technology.

The latest such advance comes with the MRCPL’s new MobilePrint Service™. With MobilePrint, you can use your personal computer, smartphone, or Wi-Fi or Internet connect mobile device to actually print to the Library’s printers from anywhere!

Simply submit documents for printing, and then come to the Library to release and pick up those documents using your email address. Gone is the need to connect to the network or to install printer drivers. Documents may be picked up in the Adult Services Department at the Print Release station.

The charge of 10 cents per printed page for black and white documents, and 50 cents per page for color. Instructions and links to printers are available here.

Many libraries across the country have printing stations, but those come with costs such as computer maintenance and drivers maintained by IT departments. This new service is entirely in the cloud, eliminating costs.

MobileFirst is a product of Canadian firm PrinterOn, which provides similar tools for other industries.
