The Simple Goods show is celebrating its 10-year anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 5. In honor of this occasion, Simple Goods will include a variety of events prior to and during the show.

Ohio native Candy Looker, a primitive design artist and crafter, established Simple Goods in 2006. With the assistance of her husband, Tom, and sister and brother-in-law, Max and Harry Squires, Candy continued to run Simple Goods until June 2015, when she sold the show to Christina Hummel, a Pennsylvania antiques dealer, and Kris Casucci, a Massachusetts show promoter and antiques dealer.

Over the last 10 years, Simple Goods has been successfully blending country antiques with related primitive handmades and, due to its success, many similar local businesses now plan open houses and events in Ohio on the same weekend as the twice-yearly show. Many mixed shows have followed around the country, indicating that customers enjoy the variety. Simple Goods welcomes visitors and dealers twice a week, in November and April.

Before moving to its current location the show set up in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Unique handmade items and early antiques in original paint and attic surface is the theme of the show. The dealers go to great lengths to set up booth displays that resemble rooms in early homes, cabins and mercantiles.

The Simple Goods show is Nov. 5, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the R&L Banquet Center,781 Fifth Avenue, with 45 country and primitive dealers representing 15 states. Prizes, games, giveaways and cake will be part of the Anniversary Party, which will be held at 8 a.m. outside the event hall. Admission is $5 and includes free parking.
