The month of April brings warmer weather (finally), and with it the opportunity to get outside, shake off the winter cobwebs, and breathe in the spring air.

This is particularly true in the Mansfield area, where walking is a way of life for many folks. Just Walk Richland provides locals with the chance to engage in collective whole health walking. Walks are open to all, and take place in a wide variety of settings.

Participants are welcome to join in no matter their motivation – to meet new people, engage in healthy activity, experience nature, whatever might be the case. Some walks are more strenuous then others; that information is known up front so that you can match your stride with the appropriate path.

During April, the following walks are available for participation:

Nature Walk at the OSU/NCSC Campus – April 13 at 5:30 PM. This is a walk around an open field on campus, as well as sidewalk and paved paths. There may be some wet ground or damp grass, depending on the weather.

Parkrun 5K Walk/Run/Jog – April 15 at 9:00 AM at North Lake Park. These 5Ks are geared toward your own ability and pace, so all ages and abilities are welcome.

Putting the Spring in Your Step Woods Fitness Hike – April 17 at 9:00 AM. A moderately difficult walk over approximately 5-6 miles along the Stoller Road Trail on the north side of Clearfork Reservoir.

Enjoy Nature Through Journaling – April 22 at 10:00 AM. Walk, draw, a bit of food and poetry – all at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary.
