Billed as “the premier Midwest genealogical conference,” registration for the 2019 Annual Conference of the Ohio Genealogical Society is now open.

Richland County has a strong connection to the Ohio Genealogical Society, being its home and the location for its Samuel D. Isaly Library (pictured above).

“Building a Heritage” will take place at the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason from May 1 through May 4. This year’s theme has resulted in over 90 sessions in various fields, including military, technology, DNA, ethnicity, methodology, records, problem-solving, and Ohio history.

Keynote speaker will be David E. Rencher, Chief Genealogical Officer for FamilySearch, a genealogical corporation operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Other featured speakers include Michael D. Lacopo of Roots4U, and Lisa Louise Cooke of Genealogy Gems.

Discounts to the conference are available to members who plan on attending. There is a block of rooms at Great Wolf Lodge is now sold out. For those wishing to get a hotel room for the conference, the overflow hotel is the Residence Inn by Marriott.

The Conference website can be found here, and a direct connection to the registration page is here.
