Each year after Thanksgiving Richland County residents are encouraged to participate in Giving Tuesday, which is hosted locally by the Richland County Foundation’s Richland Gives initiative. The goal is to facilitate online fundraising for local nonprofit organizations by providing a single platform/website through which residents can easily make online contributions to the nonprofit organizations that they are most passionate about. Residents may even discover a local nonprofit group that they were not previously aware of.

Participating nonprofit organizations will benefit by being able to raise funds and awareness, as well as cultivate new donors and reinvigorate those who have donated in the past. Through Richland Gives, each organization will have an individualized web page to promote their cause, and organizations can also create fun and compelling campaigns to generate more attention for their cause. Nonprofits can register now to participate; there is no cost, but the deadline for registration is October 31. To register visit the Richland Gives website (link: https://www.richlandcountyfoundation.org/community-impact/richland-gives)

This year, Giving Tuesday falls on December 3. The Richland County Foundation sponsors the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger.
