During this year’s road building season, we will bringing you weekly construction updates from District 3 of the Ohio Department of Transportation for Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties. Included in this list is an update for a Richland County project.

ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 39
SR 39, east of Wally Rd. over Black Fork of the Mohican River, will have signalized, single lane closures to maintain traffic for a bridge replacement. Crews are working on the eastbound side of the bridge. All traffic has been shifted to the westbound lane. The project is expected to be complete June 2018. 

US Route 30
US 30, from SR 511 to SR 60, will have single lane closures as crews continue pavement repairs. The project will utilize speed limit signs to reduce the speed and maintain the flow of traffic. The reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 50 mph; the posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 60 mph. The project is expected to be complete July 2018. 

Interstate 71
I-71, from US 250 to the Wayne County line, will have intermittent single lane closures as crews begin work as part of a resurfacing project. Nightly pavement repairs will take place from 8pm-7am. Double lane closures at night have gone into effect leaving one lane of traffic open in both directions. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 65 mph; the reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55mph. The project is expected to be complete August 2018. 

Goon Rd. (CR 3006)
Goon Rd., along with other roadways within Mohican State Park, will have intermittent lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Notices of roadwork are marked along State Park roads. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 4
SR 4, from the Marion County line to the City of Bucyrus, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for pavement repairs. Traffic will maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete July 2018. 

State Route 19
SR 19, between Hopley St. and S. Walnut St., will be reduced to one lane of traffic for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained with periodic flagging operations. Crews will begin removing asphalt at intersections and begin crack sealing. The project is expected to be complete May 2018. 

US Route 30/SR 4
US 30, at its structure over SR 4, will have intermittent single lane closures for a bridge repairs. Crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. The work zone on US 30 westbound has been removed. Crews will continue to work in the zone located on SR 4 for the remainder of the project. Please use caution while driving in the area. The project is expected to be complete May 2018. 

US Route 30 
US 30, from Tiffin St. to Lower Leesville Rd., will have eastbound and westbound single lane closures for bridge repairs. Crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. Please use caution while driving in the area. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

RICHLAND COUNTY
State Route 13: Culvert Replacements ***UPDATE***
SR 13 is closed for 33 days for three consecutive culvert replacements. The order and location of the culverts are as follows:
Location 1: The first culvert is located just north of Reynolds Rd.
Location 2: The second culvert is located just south of SR 603.
Location 3: The third culvert is located between Bricker Rd. and Eby Rd. (Green Detour)
The detour route for Location 1 and 2 is northbound on SR 13 to SR 96, west on SR 96 to SR 61, north on SR 61 to SR 603, southeast on SR 603 to SR 13, and reverse for southbound motorists. The detour route for Location 3 is north on SR 13 to US 30, east on US 30 to SR 545, north on SR 545 to SR 96, west on SR 96 to SR 13, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete Friday June 8, 2018.

State Route 13: Pavement Repairs
SR 13, beginning at the Knox County line to Hillview St. in Bellville, will have single lane closures for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete September 2018.

US Route 30 
US 30, between 5th Ave. and N. Trimble Rd. in the City of Mansfield, will have single lane closures for pavement repairs in the eastbound and westbound driving lanes. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving in the area as trucks will be entering and exiting the work zone. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

County Road 184 (Kuhn Rd.)
Kuhn Rd, between London West Rd and Hazel Brush Rd, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is Kuhn Rd to London West Rd, east on London West Rd to Champion Rd, north on Champion Rd to Hazel Brush Rd, west on Hazel Brush Rd to Kuhn Rd, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 2018.
