The schedule of upcoming season performances released by Neos Dance Theatre include a diverse and ambitious slate of festivals, orchestra collaborations, and more – including three in Mansfield.

Neos Dance Theatre has a permanent dance studio in Mansfield and collaborates in each of the communities it serves with The Renaissance Theatre, Findlay Academy of Ballet, Oberlin College, The University of Akron, and individual and community based organizations.

On Saturday, August 5 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Neos will perform “Ballet at the Brickyard.” The highly anticipated one-night-only, fine arts festival Ballet @ the Brickyard is coming back Mansfield’s Carousel district on August 5th! This is a destination event attracting audiences from all over Ohio and beyond to partake in the unique and elegant evening of gourmet foods, wine, cognac, cigars, artwork, guest vocalists and entertainment, and of course Neos Dance Theatre. This year will feature a wide array of dance styles showcasing the diversity of this rising young company. Tickets may be purchased online here.

On December 9 (8:00 PM) and 10 (2:00 PM), the troupe returns to Mansfield for an encore performance of “A 1940s Nutcracker,” a timeless tale as an original production with dazzling visual effects. A 1940’s Nutcracker, set in Mansfield, Ohio takes a twist from the original tale by paying homage to an iconic age of film, fashion, American Christmas traditions, the industrial age, and WWII.

On May 7 Neos will present at “Boots and Ballet: A Night At the Races,” which will take place at the Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center. This cooperative fundraiser is in its fourth year.

Among other performances during the coming year:

  • Two additional performances of “A 1940s Nutcracker” in Findlay and Elyria
  • A performance of Orff’s “Carmina Burana” with the Canton Symphony Orchestra
  • A trip to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to perform with the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra
