1812Blockhouse is pleased to bring you the first in a new feature, bringing you information about day trip opportunities that emphasize Ohio’s unique history, culture, and character.

This coming weekend, the Ohio History Center in Columbus will be hosting its Civil Rights Weekend. On Saturday, January 14 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sunday, January 15 from Noon to 5:00 PM; and Monday, January 16 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM..

Join the Ohio History Connection as it celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day all weekend long, with special open hours on Monday. Learn about how Ohioans throughout history have fought for and achieved civil rights milestones. Take part in family-friendly, hands-on stations, see objects from their Gay Ohio History Initiative collection and more!

The Center is located immediately to the west of the 17th Avenue exit off of I71, just a few miles north of downtown Columbus.
