This summer we have continued our look at “summer road trips” within an easy driving distance of Richland County. That shared, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Richland County and we strongly encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.

This last “summer road trip” for 2018 is actually more of a “summer and fall road trip,” as we head down I-71 to Ohio’s capital city, over a few blocks to the west, and to The Ohio State University’s main campus. Mansfield Police Issue Race Noise And Traffic Advisory

As we shared on Monday, Dirt Million is taking place this Friday and Saturday at the Mansfield Motor Speedway. In anticipation of traffic resulting from the event, the Mansfield Division of Police has issued a noise and traffic advisory.

The Division of Police would like to advise the public that on August 24 and 25 the Mansfield Motor Speedway will be hosting the Dirt Million Late Model Racing Event at 400 Crall Road. Hot laps will start both days around 6:00 PM and racing starts around 8:00 PM. More…

Dirt Million This Friday And Saturday

The Super Late Model division has its new mega-event this week with the “Dirt Million” on Friday and Saturday at Mansfield Motor Speedway.

Super Late Model drivers will compete for a minimum of $100,000 to win and $2,000 to start in the inaugural Dirt Million at the 4/10-mile oval, but the purse has continue to increased throughout the 2018 calendar year via a unique format and promotion that allows dirt racing families, friends, sponsors, fans and teams everywhere in the world to play a role in building the feature’s payoff. Mid-Ohio Announces New Sponsor For Nationally-Televised Race

On Tuesday, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course announced a new title sponsor for the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series race event on August 10-11.  Rock N Roll Tequila will hold this entitlement as well as being named the official tequila of the facility as part of a three-year agreement.

The Rock N Roll Tequila 170 Presented by Amethyst Beverage will be the final race of the 57th season at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn permanent road course in Lexington.  It will also mark the sixth time the NASCAR Xfinity Series visits Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. More…

The American Motorcyclist Association is giving its members extra days to save on tickets to 2018 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, extending the members-only-discount deadline through June 8.
