MSO Holiday Pops Concert On December 16

The annual Holiday Pops Concert of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will perform on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre on December 16 at 8 PM. The performance, conducted by Maestro Octavio Más-Arocas and Choral Director Larry Griffin will feature a program of holiday repertoire, closing with a traditional carol sing.

The concert will feature a children’s chorus conducted by Lori Turner as well as Rusty Cates as narrator on the Holcomb arrangement of “’Twas The Night Before Christmas.” As ever, a visit from Santa Claus will take place during the concert and guests will have the opportunity to capture a photo with Santa Claus in the lobby. Award Winning Gingerbread Enhanced With Candy Canes

It took them a week and a half but the talents of three Mansfield Senior High culinary arts students produced an award-winning gingerbread house at the recent IX Christmas Connection in Cleveland.

Juniors Le’Daeja Lindsay, Gina King and Deajah Haney earned second place among approximately 18 entries at the IX Center – and a $300 check for the culinary arts program. More…

Record Crowd Watches Tree Lighting

A larger number of onlookers sang, snuggled, and said “Ah!” this evening as the official community Christmas Tree was switched on at Richland Carrousel Park.

The number was up from that of the year before, not only attending the tree lighting itself, but in going up and down adjacent streets to visit local shops and eateries. Mayor Tim Theaker and the City of Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department have announced that the 2nd Annual Cookies with Santa will be held at the Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center on Saturday, December 16 from 2PM-5PM. The Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center is located at 445 Bowman Street.
