It’s time to plan for success.

NECIC is launching a Business Plan Writing Course. Those who complete the course will be eligible to apply for a microloan (of at least $500) and the application fee for the microloan will be waived.

In the Business Plan Writing Course, NECIC’s Certified Business Advisor (CBA) will take participants through the step-by-step process of writing a business plan that can be used to launch a startup or to look for funding. The course lasts for 8 sessions and will guide participants through the creation of the various parts of a business plan, including Business Description, Market Analysis, Marketing Strategy and Financial Projections. By connecting with NECIC through this process, participants will also be connected with community partners, the supportive services they offer, and NECIC programs.

The cost to attend the Business Plan Writing Course is $50. Participants must also meet the following eligibility requirements: US Citizens, 18 years of age or older; low- to moderate income individuals in Richland County, with a focus on Mansfield; individuals that have startups with less than $200,000 in annual revenue; and individuals that are serious about starting a business. Participants must complete the course, attending each class, to be eligible to apply for a microloan and have the microloan application fee waived.

Classes will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-7:30 PM at NECIC (134 N Main St, Mansfield OH 44902). The next round of classes will run from September 17 through October 10, but NECIC will continue to run sessions throughout the year for those unable to participate in the current session. Here are the remaining 2019 session dates:

  • September 17 – October 10
  • October 22 – November 14
  • November 26 – December 19
